(Dr. David Ho), M.D, a frontier of Cancer disease researcher,
(Dr. Andrew Wang), Vice President, Academia Sinica,

(Modeling,
Simulation and Training (MS&T))
The
Scripps Research Institute(SRI)International,
Torrey Pines Institute, Burnham Institute,
及University of
Florida, University of Central Florida, Florida Institute of Technology,
Embry Riddle Aeronautical University
Institute
for Simulation and Training,Florida
National
Center of Simulation, US Army RDECOM,US
Navy NAWC,US
Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation
(Modeling, Simulation and Training (MS&T))
(Lake
College of Medicine and Health Sciences Campus, UF Research/Conference
Center, Burnham Institute for Medical Research-East Coast Campus, Orlando VA
Medical Center 及
Nemours Children’s Hospital and Research Campus等

Nature-Inspired Aerospace Technology Advances in 21st Century
Many
technological advances in the 21st century, including the ones in
aerospace field, are not different than the ones happening in the
previous centuries, in the sense that these advances are inspired by and
learned from nature. This talk highlights some technological advances in
the aerospace field derived from the behaviors of nature animals.
Especially some engineering systems that mimic birds as natural flyers
will be used as examples with focus on the dynamics and control aspects
of the systems. Current achievements as well as future challenges to
advance the state of the technological advances will be discussed.

Contemporary and Emerging Display Technologies
Displays
are ubiquitous in our daily lives. Their applications span from
smartphones, tablets, virtual reality (e.g. Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Sony
PlayStation, etc.) and augmented reality (e.g. Google Glass, Microsoft
HoloLens, etc.), vehicles, computers, TVs, video walls, data projectors,
and digital movie theaters, just to name a few. Presently, quantum
dots-based liquid crystal display (LCD), light emitting diode (LED), and
organic LED take center stage for direct-view displays, while digital
micro-mirrors for projection displays. In this talk, I will briefly
describe their operation principles and competitive advantages for
different display applications. |
